RANGIA: In a shocking discovery, the lifeless body of a young, unidentified individual was found in Ward No 2 of Rangia, Assam, during the early hours of Tuesday.

Earlier, in another sad development, a woman died after being hit by a train in the West Karbi Anglong district of Assam. It was not sure if the death was caused by accident or if she had committed suicide.

The incident came to light after the local people discovered severed body parts on the railway tracks at the Lamsakhang locality in the West Karbi Anglong District. Railway Department employees collected the body parts in the presence of the officials. The victim was later identified as Sabita Chatnami belonging to the Lamsakhang market locality of the district.

Meanwhile, local people have mentioned the possibility of a possible suicide by the woman.

In a separate incident, the Principal of the Behali Degree College met an untimely death on Monday. He had reportedly fallen to death from his own building. Dr Jiban Chandra Nath was found dead at his home and the speculation is that he had fallen from the first floor of his house. His neighbours informed him that the teacher had gone for his morning walks before the incident took place. They mentioned that he was engaged in his daily chores after returning from the walks, but no one had any idea as to how he managed to fall to an untimely death.

A police team arrived at the location after the incident and sent the body for a post-mortem. According to the reports, no one else was at home when the incident took place and the neighbours informed the police about the incident. It can be noted that by the time the police team arrived at the location, the teacher had already passed away. The police team were able to recover a toothbrush and shoes near the body. A broken branch of the tree next to his house was also found next to the dead body, which he had probably tried to grab while falling.
